Domain Hosting

For Cotse Domain Hosting, you have several options to choose from:

PLEASE NOTE: We are not a "hosting company". We provide hosting services for our users that wish to maintain a low-traffic "hobby" domain.

* We do not provide cgi access.

* We do not support PHP activities.

* Under no circumstances will we allow PHP Nuke on our Services.

1) DNS Hosting. We host the DNS for your server. Your server may be located outside of Cotse Services and we will route traffic to your server.

2) Virtual Domain Hosting on Cotse Servers. With this option, you host your domain on our servers and we will provide you 50 Megs of Web Space at your Cotse.net account.

3) Mail Records. For your domains MX (mail records needs) we provide a couple options. You may wish to have your mail hosted elsewhere or you may receive all mail for your domain at your Cotse account. It's your choice, simply advise us if you want your domain mail delivered to your Cotse account.

Option 1, DNS Hosting.

If you choose this option, you must have your webpage available on a server with a static IP address.

Setup your DNS with your hosting providers to:

ns.cotse.net & ns2.cotse.com (be careful about the .net and .com, it's specific).

Advise us of the IP address for your webserver and we will point your DNS to whatever IP you choose.

If you need to change IP addresses, there is a $25.00 fee per change.

Option 2, Virtual Domain Hosting.

With Virtual Domain Hosting, we host your DNS and your web page. Your web space for your virtual domain will be:

www.cotse.net/users/YOURACCOUNTNAME/

We will setup our web server to host your account and provide you with statistics and an html_public directory to host your pages in. You may use any standard FTP client (host www.cotse.net) or you may choose to use the FTP utility we have built into Cotse Members Services.

At your Domain Registrar or DNS Provider, point your DNS records to

ns.cotse.net & ns2.cotse.com (be careful about the .net and .com, it's specific).

Option 3, Mail (MX) Records.

Option 3 isn't much of an "option", it's mandatory for any hosting solution if you wish to receive mail for your domain.

We will do this two ways. We will host the MX records for you, either pointing them to another mail server of your choosing or we will forward ALL mail for your domain to your Cotse account.

It's your choice. At the present time, we do not have the option of setting up other usernames/logins for other email accounts for your domain. This is something we hope to add in the future.

If you have your DNS hosted elsewhere, as well as your MX records, that's fine by us and doesn't really involve our systems. If you need help interpreting MX records and what you should do with them, please feel free to email me.

Mandatory

For each domain you host with us, you *MUST* have a Cotse Account. If you host 2 domains, you need 2 Cotse Accounts.

For each domain you host with us, you *MUST* pay a $25.00 setup fee. This may be accomplished by visiting the payment area. You must use PayPal, Egold or mail a check or money order to our offices. IBill isn't setup to handle the $25.00 fee.

Very Important URL's
